Bring tradition and authenticity into your kitchen with this Volcanic Stone Molcajete. Designed by The Talavera Hub and crafted by hand at our family partner workshop in Guanajuato, Mexico. Hand-carved in Mexico from solid lava rock, this piece is a staple of Mexican cooking—ideal for grinding spices, blending salsas, or creating guacamole the traditional way.

Crafted in the classic molcajete shape with three sturdy legs and a matching tejolote (pestle), this mortar’s raw texture adds rustic charm and functionality to any culinary space.

Its large size is perfect for batch prep and tabletop presentation. This piece measures 8" in diameter.

Each molcajete is individually carved, so expect natural variations in size, color, and texture. I select each piece at random, but feel free to message me if you're looking for something specific—I’ll try my best to help!

Made from 100% natural volcanic stone, it's incredibly durable and textured for effective grinding. As with all artisanal tools, some seasoning and care are required for optimal performance.
