Shipping, Damage, and Returns

At The Talavera Hub, we ship handmade Talavera pottery, Mexican glassware, and ceramic decor from Southern California. Many of our items are fragile, handmade, or hand-painted, so we take extra care when preparing each order.

Order Processing

Most orders are prepared within 3–7 business days. Business days do not include weekends or U.S. holidays.

Because many of our items are handmade in Mexico and consolidated to our U.S. facility, this processing window gives us time to inspect, prepare, and package your order carefully before shipment.

Processing time is separate from carrier transit time.

How We Pack Fragile Items

We carefully package pottery, glassware, and ceramic items using protective materials appropriate for the size, shape, and fragility of the item.

Depending on the order, this may include:

Individual wrapping for fragile pieces
Protective fill inside the box
Extra padding around corners, handles, rims, or delicate details
Reinforced packaging for heavier or more delicate items
Multiple boxes when needed for safer shipping

Our goal is to pack each order securely while keeping shipping practical and efficient.

Free U.S. Shipping

We offer free standard shipping within the United States on eligible retail orders.

Transit times vary depending on the carrier and destination. Once a package has been handed to the carrier, delivery timing is controlled by the carrier and may be affected by weather, peak season volume, address issues, or other delays outside our control.

International Shipping

We ship internationally when available. International customers are responsible for any import taxes, VAT, customs duties, brokerage fees, or handling fees required by their country.

Customs delays may occur and are outside our control.

Damage, Wrong Items, or Shipping Issues

Please inspect your order as soon as it arrives.

If your item arrives damaged, broken, defective, or incorrect, contact us within 7 days of delivery.

Please include:

Your order number
A brief description of the issue
Clear photos of the item
Photos of the inner packaging
Photos of the outer box
A photo of the shipping label

These photos help us review the issue quickly and, when applicable, work with the shipping carrier.

Depending on the situation and item availability, we may offer a replacement, store credit, refund, or another appropriate solution.

Important: Please do not throw away the item, packaging, or box until we have reviewed the issue.

Returns

Standard retail orders may be eligible for return within 90 days from the date the order is marked delivered.

Returns must be approved before anything is shipped back. Items returned without approval may be refused or may not qualify for a refund.

Approved standard returns for reasons other than damage, defect, or our error may be subject to a 15% restocking fee. Customers are generally responsible for return shipping unless the return is due to confirmed damage, defect, or an incorrect item sent by us.

Returned items must be unused, unaltered, and returned with original packaging or protective materials when possible.

Custom, Bulk, and Special Orders

Custom orders, personalized items, negotiated-price orders, wholesale orders, large bulk orders, and certain special orders may not be eligible for cancellation or return once preparation has started.
