This piece is hand-painted and kiln-fired with a lead-free glaze. Hand-carved by artisans in Mexico, this charming animal-shaped mortar and pestle is more decorative than functional—perfect as a conversation piece, kitchen decor, or a fun cultural gift for little ones.

Crafted from authentic volcanic stone, this piece takes the shape of a cheerful little animal, complete with hand-painted accents. Its playful and miniature size makes it ideal for display on shelves, counters, or dining tables.

Every molcajete is handmade and may vary slightly in shape, carving, and color. I select designs at random. If you'd like to request a certain look, feel free to message me and I’ll try to accommodate.

While it's made from the same stone as full-sized molcajetes, this tiny version is more decorative than practical. It's still hand-carved and features the rugged texture of traditional volcanic stone.
